Dear the Listenerd:

As an infrequent, but long-time, reader of your website, wanted to let you know about my daughter Alicia's senior H.S. English project. She and her classmates were tasked with burning a CD that told about her life, title it, design a cover, write liner notes, hand it in on time. She did all of the above. Her play list is, proud dad-syndrome aside, quite remarkable, eclectic and adventurous. Many of the cuts are/were new to me. Not gonna say which ones. But here they are:
All I Wanna Do - Sheryl Crow (one of the first songs she remembers, sums up her childhood, without the drinking)
Pay Attention/A World of my Own - Kathryn Beaumont (imagining living in a world of her own)
Take Off Your Sunglasses - Ezra Furman and the Harpoons "my go-to song for every time things seem to be going wrong"
Expectations - Belle & Sebastian
Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - "Home is wherever I'm with you"
Extraordinary Machine - Fiona Apple "I am the baby of the family...."
I'm Only Sleeping - The Beatles "Please don't spoil my day/I'm miles away/And after all/I'm only sleeping"
Hey Snow White - The New Pornographers - "To me, the song is about reassuring yourself that no matter what, everything will be all right as long as you learn to lover yourself...which can be a difficult thing to do."
Visions - Stevie Wonder - "Although I'm an optimistic person, I am also realistic"
Both Sides Now - Joni Mitchell - "something's lost and something's gained"
Feeling Good - Nina Simone - "It's a new dawn/It's a new day/It's a new life/For me/And I'm feeling good."

Thanks for listening.
